you > here is my launch plan, run a pre-mortem on it before I start building
plan.txtthe example from the SKILL.md
I want to launch my SaaS tool next month to 500 people on LinkedIn. Budget €5,000 for ads. I expect 50 paying customers in month 1.
claude · starting the pre-mortem via the eight steps...
[1/8]map the plan · ask through six flags: decision, timeline, stake, success, failure, stakeholders · two questions back: what counts as paying, and where does the 50 come from? 50 out of 500 is 10 percent conversion
[2/8]time travel · the mandatory sentence is spelt out in full below
THE TIME TRAVEL · STEP 2 FROM THE SKILL.MDIt is now six months after the deadline. The launch has failed catastrophically. Not a bit disappointing, genuinely failed: the €5,000 budget is gone and the count stayed far below the expectation. You look back and write a report for a friend who is considering the same plan.
[3/8]failure modes · at least 15 concrete reasons, spread across 7 categories, each specific to this plan
[4/8]scoring · for each failure mode likelihood 1 to 5 times impact 1 to 5, sorted from high to low, the top 5 are your critical failure points
[5/8]early signals · for each critical point an observable signal, a metric and a threshold at which you step in
[6/8]prevention or mitigation · what you already do differently now, and the damage plan if it happens anyway
[7/8]kill criteria · set in advance for when you stop, before sunk costs cloud that decision
[8/8]go/no-go report · plan in 1 sentence, top 5 risks, 5 early signals, 3 adjustments, 2 kill criteria, honest verdict

Biggest risk: the conversion assumption. 50 paying customers from 500 people reached asks for 10 percent paid conversion, and nowhere in the plan does it say what that figure is based on.
Early signal: number of paying customers after week 1. If that stays below the pre-chosen threshold on day 7, you step in at the assumption, not only at the budget.
Kill criterion: a pre-chosen floor on a fixed date. You choose the number, the skill only forces it to be set before the start.
Verdict: adjust. The plan can go ahead, but not with no basis at all under the most important figure.
