SEO case studies: the proof behind our approach

This page shows what an SEO project looks like with us in practice, using swap.coupons as an example: a platform of our own, so more of the approach can go on the table here than with a client account. There is no download form and no case study document: we share a client's figures in a conversation, with that client's permission.

Search demand is not a list, it is a slope

A coupon platform that takes on the big names for the heaviest search terms loses that fight, and that is not a matter of trying harder. The shape below explains why, and why the work for swap.coupons began to the right of the bend.

search demand distributionschematic · the shape, not a client's actual numbers
this is where the work began head middle tail search volume per term number of different search terms →
headTwo or three words, huge volume, already taken. Whoever holds this spot holds it with a brand everyone knows and a budget you do not have. Writing content to capture that spot is the most expensive way to achieve nothing.
middleCategory plus intent. Winnable, but only once the technical side is right and authority has already been built. This is what a project grows towards, not where it starts.
tailSpecific combinations: this brand, this deal, this condition. Little traffic per term, the most traffic altogether. They are winnable without authority, they convert better because the intent is already sharp, and they build exactly the authority you need in the middle.
The slope is the well-known shape of search demand, not a measurement of this client. What is genuinely real is the order of the work: start on the right, work towards the left.
REG.01 · The brands behind the SEO work

Five brands, two of our own

These are the brands the SEO work currently runs for, along with what we do for each. Two are our own: that is where we try out an approach first, before it lands on a client account. Without figures, because those belong to the brand and not to a page its competitor reads too.

What you will find here

This page shows what an SEO project looks like with us in practice. You do not get an abstract explanation of SEO, but a concrete example of a brand that got to work on it, with the steps in the order they were taken. That order is half the story.

swap.coupons, a platform of our own, as the featured case study

That example is swap.coupons, the SEO case study we are currently putting forward. It is a platform of our own, and we say that upfront: an own brand is not a client who chose us. It is, however, the place where we try out an approach ourselves first. Want to know exactly which figures go with it? They are not here, and there is no document you can download either. We go through them in a conversation, alongside the case study closest to your market.

Who this is relevant for

We started in Oisterwijk in 2017 and now work from Huis ter Heide, with a clear goal: helping skilled tradespeople and business owners get found through Google. The SEO case studies on this page are especially interesting if you are in a similar position: a business with a clear service or product that is still not visible enough in the search results.

The next step: all case studies

The overview of all case studies gives a good picture of the projects we have already run, not just in SEO but also in websites and social media.

How you get the figures

This page does not carry loose percentages or amounts, and there is no form to request them. Anyone who wants the figures books a call or emails sales@theseo.nl. We then pick out the case study closest to your market and go through it together.

STEP 01

You book a call or send an email

You tell us your trade and your area. Nothing more is needed, and you do not have to open an account.
STEP 02

We pick out the case study closest to your market

For a client account, we ask that client for permission first. If they say no, you get a version without the brand name.
STEP 03

You get the whole reasoning

What the situation was, which choices were made and what came out of it, alongside your own numbers.

That choice is deliberate. Figures without explanation say little, and a client who shares their results with us did not ask for them to end up on a public page. What you get in the conversation is the whole reasoning: what the situation was, which choices were made and what came out of it.

What an SEO case study tells you

An SEO case study is more than a number. The value lies in the combination: where a business started, which choices were made in keywords, technical work and content, and how those choices translate into more visibility in Google.

That is also why we do not put swap.coupons' figures loose on the page. A percentage without the approach behind it says little about what is achievable for your business. So there is only one route, and it runs through a conversation.

FIG.02: What to take with yousheet 2/2

Five questions to ask before you sign an SEO project

This page does not send you off with figures, so it sends you off with something else just as useful. These are the questions we want to be able to answer ourselves. Ask them of us, and ask them of the agency you are comparing us with.

checklistfive questions · take these to every conversation

Which search terms will you target in the first three months, and why those specifically?

An answer that only lists broad, generic terms means no one has looked at the competition.

What is the baseline measurement, and where is it recorded?

Without a recorded starting point, every later graph is an opinion. Ask for the date and for the file.

What happens to the texts and the technical work if we stop?

Everything on your own domain should stay yours. Links that come from a network do disappear, and you should know that in advance.

Who writes it, and how many hours actually go into a month?

A fixed monthly fee without a picture of the hours is not a price but a subscription to uncertainty.

When would you yourself say this project is not working?

The most important answer of the whole conversation. Anyone who does not name a limit here does not have one.

We answer these five in the first conversation, even if you go on to work with someone else afterwards. The free SEO scan already gives you the answer to question two for your own site.

Does your situation resemble swap.coupons'?

Not sure whether your situation resembles swap.coupons or another client of ours? Book a call, or start with the free SEO scan so you know your own starting point before we talk.

In that conversation you discuss where your site currently stands in Google, what is possible, and whether a project like swap.coupons' is achievable for your business too.

More than just SEO

SEO is not the only thing we share case studies about. If you are more interested in what a new or refreshed website delivers, take a look at the website case studies, including the gomijas project as an example.

If you would rather work on visibility through channels like Instagram or LinkedIn, take a look at our social media approach. That way, you get a concrete example for each part of your online presence, instead of a general story.
