One page in plain English: what is allowed, what is not, and how you stay honest with customers.
Good practice, and a way to show how your people handle AI and personal data. Have everyone sign after the conversation.
Short sentences that tell customers when AI is involved. Put them where the customer sees them, at the first contact.
With the sources and the checks behind each line.
WHAT REALLY MATTERS
Personal data in an AI tool is covered by UK GDPR like any other tool. Tell people how you use their data and keep a record. Since 5 February 2026, fully automated decisions with a significant effect on a person fall under Articles 22A to 22D.
The EU AI Act does not apply in the UK. Advertising rules and consumer law do: an AI image that shows a result that is not real is misleading, and a label does not fix that. Fake reviews have been banned since 6 April 2025. Serve customers in the EU? The AI Act can apply to you as well.
The passport covers nothing for high-stakes AI and does not replace your privacy notice. Have the documents checked by whoever handles compliance. Sources read on 6 November 2026; UK AI policy and ICO guidance are still changing.
