100 free skills for Claude
A skill is a text file that teaches your AI a method. You put it in the right place, and from that moment Claude thinks along according to that model: it asks the questions the model asks, in the order prescribed by the model. Frameworks and methods that we use ourselves. No account and no charge, and there is no code that sends anything back.
the zip is on each skill's page · this one is 3.6 KB · English rendering of the Dutch source example
Download, put in place, use
reg. S.001Three actions, taking about a minute altogether. Nothing is installed in the sense of an application: you move a text file to a folder where your AI looks. If you want it set out for each environment, including the most common problems, you can find that in the installation guide NL.
A zip containing exactly one file
There is a download button on each skill's page. What you receive is a zip containing one folder, with one file in that folder: SKILL.md. No application and no installer. At the top of that file are the name and a description, followed by the instructions your AI follows.
How large such a file is
The smallest skill in this library is 1.8 KB, the largest is 11.4 KB. Together, all 100 Dutch source zips are 497.2 KB, less than one photo.
The folder where your AI looks
Claude Code reads two folders: one for you personally and one for each project. Put the extracted folder in the first if you want the skill everywhere, or in the second if it belongs to that particular project. Claude.ai and Codex work differently, but read the same file.
- CLAUDE CODEExtract into
~/.claude/skills/or into.claude/skills/within your project. - CLAUDE.AICustomize, then Skills. Upload the zip there as a skill.
- CODEXExtract the zip into
.agents/skills/in your project; Codex reads SKILL.md there directly. You can also reference it fromAGENTS.md.
You do not need to turn anything on
The description at the top of SKILL.md states when the skill should activate. Claude reads that description and recognises the phrases mentioned in it. So you simply type your question; you do not need to remember a command. If you prefer to invoke it manually, you can simply use the name from the file.
The honest limitation of a skill
It teaches your AI how to do something, but it remembers nothing between conversations. Each new session starts empty. What you can do about that is explained later under the three levels.
We are opening a second branch next quarter. Check this plan before we sign.
[ok] match on "check this plan" · skill ai-pre-mortem-analist takes over
This is what it looks like when you use it
reg. S.002A skill does not change anything about the screen you work in. The only difference is what comes back: instead of a general answer, you get the model's steps, one by one. An example conversation with the Pre-Mortem Analyst, shown in English and built from the steps in that Dutch SKILL.md.
We are opening a second branch in Bristol next quarter. Two more staff, a three-year lease. Check this plan before we sign.
▸ skill ai-pre-mortem-analist recognised from "check this plan"
Before I make the journey through time, I need clarity on six things. Vague answers are not allowed, because a vague pre-mortem is a worthless pre-mortem.
- the decision in one specific sentence
- the timeline: when, and how long it will run
- what is going into it in terms of money, time, people and reputation
- how you know it is working
- how you know it is not working
- who will be affected
Then I set up the journey through time: it is six months after opening, the branch has closed, and you reconstruct why. Not "what could go wrong", but "it went wrong, explain how".

The largest group. Models that get you thinking about habits, learning, motivation and collaboration, from GROW and Ikigai to Atomic Habits and the Socratic method. You use them on yourself or for a conversation you need to have.
Eight of these skills together form a decision-making toolkit: OODA, WRAP, Cynefin, pre-mortem, two-way door, second-order thinking, antifragility and inversion. Read which model to choose and when in decision-making models for entrepreneurs NL.
Unsure which writing model you need? The collection article writing persuasive copy compares AIDA, StoryBrand, SCQA and Cialdini, with a before and after for each model.
Eleven models, four questions: the decision guide strategy canvases compared NL points you towards the right canvas.
Not a framework to discuss, but practical work that produces a document: minutes, intake summaries, RICE prioritisation, a GDPR check, a website review and an Excel assistant.
Run it yourself or have it run for you
reg. S.004To be fair: this library is the free do-it-yourself side of work that we also provide as a service.
What a skill is and is not
The skill is not the engine or the memory. You prompt, you provide the context afresh every time, you check. Anyone who wants it to work differently has two next steps: hand over the engine, or arrange the memory.
where you are now The skill: you are the driving force You pick one from the library above and run it yourself in Claude, Codex or Cursor. It costs nothing, works today, and everything on this page will remain available like this. The limitation is your own discipline: it only happens if you remember to do it, and the things that matter are precisely the ones you are least inclined to think about.
custom role A custom role: only if it recurs every week You write one quotation a month yourself. If the same work recurs every week, it becomes a process. The three roles we set up ready-made are the Quotation Assistant, sorting incoming enquiries and preparing draft quotations, the Sales Assistant, prospect research and outreach drafts, and the Reporting Assistant, summaries and weekly and monthly reports based on your own data. Anything outside this becomes a custom role through Mansotti, our company behind this site. You retain control, because output remains a draft until a person approves it. Read what an AI assistant is and does.
everything from one source Jarvis: all your AIs work from the same business knowledge The skill teaches the AI, the brain is where the memory lives. If you want all your AIs to work from the same business knowledge, that is Jarvis, the organisational brain. It connects ChatGPT, Claude, Codex and your people with the same projects, core knowledge and decisions, so that your next session does not start over again. For this library, that means the outcomes of your skills are retained instead of every analysis starting from scratch. How to begin is explained at Starting Jarvis NL.
Continue on your own, or together with us
Level one costs nothing and remains complete. If you no longer want the work to depend on your own discipline, we will set up a custom role or configure the memory with Jarvis. We discuss this in a half-hour conversation.
If you want to write a skill yourself instead of using one, then writing a SKILL.md yourself NL takes you through the structure line by line. Exactly what a skill is and where its boundaries lie is explained in what are Claude skills NL. And if you want more than standalone instructions, MCP gives your AI real tools instead of just a method.
